Self-taught, Pernambuco Lourdes de Deus was born in 1959. She traveled throughout Brazil with her husband and supporter Waldomiro de Deus, one of the most renowned Brazilian popular artists. Lourdes paints with romanticism and with many colors the daily life and the national folkloric manifestations, such as the feast of São João, the folia de Reis and the bumba-meu-boi. Some of the artist's paintings are exhibited at the Museum of Art of the Parliament of São Paulo, at the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo, at the International Museum of Naïf Art in Quebec (Canada) and in several residences in Brazil and Europe, whose works were acquired by tourists.
