Raimundo Santos Bida 1971 – Nazaré das Farinhas, Bahia. He began to develop his artistic gifts still in his childhood. Attracted by the plastic arts, he abandoned the architectural drawing course to become a painter. Through the plastic artist Gil Abelha, he joined the artistic movement in the historic center of Salvador (Pelourinho), meeting several artists who encouraged him, such as: Totonho, Calixto Sales, Walba, Luis Lourenço, Edmundo Simas and Marchand Evaldo Oliveira. In that same year, he joined the Association of Popular Artists of the Historic Center of Salvador (AAPCHS), participating while managing the board. In 1988, he held his first group exhibition: I°Expo Natura at Galeria Abrigo da Arte in Salvador, Bahia and stood out in 1991, when he won the acquisition prize at the First Reconcavo Bienal at the Danneman Cultural Center in São Félix, Bahia. An important exhibition in his career was held at Galeria Solar Ferrão, in the pillory, Salvador. Abroad, he participated in Peinture Moderne's Prix Suisse et Prix Europe at Galeria Pro Arte Kasper in Morges, Switzerland.(1994) and in the solo exhibitions “Brasilidade” one at Galeria Praça do Mar in Loulé, Portugal and another at L'espace Culturel du Parlement Européen in Bruxelles, Belgium.(2001). He participated in the collective “Cores da Bahia” at Teatro IRDEB of TV Educativa in Salvador, Bahia. (2014). He also works as a singer, composer and musician.
